Raleigh student charged with drug possession

After his arrest, Miguel Randy Battle, 16, of 203 Cricketfield Lane in Cary, was released into the custody of his parents.

RALEIGH, N.C. — An Athens Drive High School honor student is accused of bringing a weapon and drugs to school on Wednesday.

After his arrest, Miguel Randy Battle, 16, of 203 Cricketfield Lane in Cary, was released into the custody of his parents.

Battle was caught with a pocket knife, marijuana and a glass smoking pipe, according to arrest warrants. 

He is charged with bringing a weapon onto school property, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

He is due in court on April 12.
