RALEIGH, N.C. — The Raleigh City Council voted Tuesday to ban smoking in Moore Square and Nash Square downtown.
Smoking was outlawed in Raleigh parks and city-owned venues in 2011, but the two downtown squares and nearby parking lots were exempted.
Moore Square is in the midst of a $13 million makeover, and officials have also discussed upgrades at Nash Square.
