RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police say a convicted sex offender was loitering near a school bus stop on Maybrook Crossing Drive Thursday as 15 to 20 children waited for the bus.

James Edward Anderson, 39, of 1420 S. Wilmington St., was charged with being a sex offender on a child's premises and possession of marijuana. He was placed in the Wake County jail under $10,500 bond.
