Bed bugs cause havoc in Triangle
RALEIGH, N.C. — There's good news and bad news for Raleigh in its fight against bed bugs.

Pest control company Orkin released on Tuesday its annual ranking of cities with bed bug problems. The company based its rankings on the number of bed bug treatments in both residential and commercial properties performed in metro areas from Dec. 1, 2015, to Nov. 30, 2016.

The good news for the Raleigh-Durham metropolitan area: It's down one spot from the previous ranking.

The bad news: The region is ranked No. 12 out of the top 50. No other North Carolina metro ranks higher than the City of Oaks.

Charlotte came in at 19, while Asheville held the No. 25 slot. The Greensboro-High Point-Winston Salem metro area made its debut on the list at No. 42.
