Raleigh police: Worker stepped in road, struck by vehicle

Raleigh police say a man working on Avent Ferry Road wasn't paying attention, stepped in front of a car and was struck sometime before 2 a.m. Tuesday.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police say a man working on Avent Ferry Road wasn't paying attention, stepped in front of a car and was struck sometime before 2 a.m. Tuesday.

Arnulso Martinez, 48, is expected to be OK, police said. He works for a company contracted by the North Carolina Department of Transportation to do resurfacing work.

The driver does not face charges.
