Raleigh police: Woman robbed, son hit with gun

A woman was robbed at gunpoint in Raleigh last month, and the suspected robber hit her 8-year-old son with the gun, according to arrest warrants.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A woman was robbed at gunpoint in Raleigh last month, and the suspected robber hit her 8-year-old son with the gun, according to arrest warrants.

Percy Jamal Richardson, 30, of 510 Lansing St., is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, breaking and entering a motor vehicle and assault on a child under 12. He remains in the Wake County jail under a $110,000 bond.

According to police, the woman and her son were in an SUV at a BP gas station at the intersection of Wake Forest and Whitaker Mill roads on Oct. 5 when Richardson came inside, struck the boy on the head with his gun and robbed the woman of $350.
