RALEIGH, N.C. — Police asked for the public's help Thursday to identify two men who robbed a Raleigh gas station last week and might have ties to crimes in Durham.

Police spokesman Jim Sughrue said two men robbed the Circle K store at 3600 Lake Boone Trail, then fled on foot around 12:45 a.m. on March 18. They were armed and wore surgical masks over their faces.

The men might have committed similar crimes in Durham recently, Sughrue said.

One man stands approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 180 to 200 pounds. He wore a gray hoodie with an unknown design on its hood, black pants and white sneakers. He carried a handgun.

The second man is between 5 feet 2 inches and 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs about 120 to 130 pounds. He wore a bluish or purple hoodie that might have discolorations from bleach, along with light-colored blue jeans and black shoes. He carried a black shoulder bag.

The ethnicity of either man hasn't been determined.

Anyone who has information that might help detectives should call Raleigh Crime Stoppers at 919-834-4357 or Durham Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for tips that solve cases.
