RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police were searching Friday for a male suspect who has been observed peeping into apartment units near the campus of North Carolina State University.

Authorities have not yet released any sketches or identifying information other than to say the suspects were all men in the string of incidents, the first of which was reported on Feb. 5 at an apartment at 1135 Crab Orchard Drive, according to a police report about the incident.

Investigators have not said if anyone was hurt during the incidents or if any of the homes were broken into during the Peeping Tom episodes.

Other peeping incidents reported to police include:

  • April 5: A suspect was caught peeping into an apartment located at 705 Centennial Parkway shortly before 12:30 a.m.
  • March 22: Police were called to an apartment at 2808 Avent Ferry Road after a suspect was observed looking into the residence shortly before midnight.
  • Feb. 18: A resident who lives at an apartment building located at 2820 Avent Ferry Road reported a peeper shortly after 10 a.m.

Anyone with information was asked to call Raleigh police.

"It makes me feel really weird that people are just walking around an apartment complex trying to sneak a peek into windows," NC State student Alex Zonderman said. "I don't know what their goal is. They could be doing a multitude of different things, and it's kind of scary to think about."
