Durham man charged with murder in stabbing death of Raleigh boyfriend

A Durham man has been charged with murder after police said he stabbed his boyfriend inside a Raleigh apartment early Wednesday.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A Durham man has been charged with murder after police said he stabbed his boyfriend inside a Raleigh apartment early Wednesday.

The stabbing happened on Tivoli Court, near Capital Boulevard, in Raleigh around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Terrell Boyette, 47, was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Marcus Ni-Keith Jerkins, 24, of 3040 Moneta Way in Durham, was arrested Thursday and charged with murder in connection with the case.

Police had been searching for Jerkins since Wednesday, when police said he fled on foot and did not have access to a vehicle.

Neighbors said the apartment complex is usually calm.

“It’s pretty unsettling,” one neighbor said. “It’s more than unsettling.”
