Raleigh police respond to shooting report

Police were called to a possible multiple shooting Monday evening along the 500 block of Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Police were called to a possible multiple shooting Monday evening along the 500 block of Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh.

Authorities told WRAL News that Wake County 911 dispatch received a report at about 9 p.m. that a woman was claiming she shot her two children and husband. The woman also claimed she was going to commit suicide, authorities said.

Police then began searching multiple areas in downtown Raleigh for the source of the call.

As of 2 a.m. Tuesday, police had not found the woman. Police said their investigation was complete.
