Raleigh police: Man broke into same home twice

A Hertford County man is charged with the attempted first-degree murder of a woman after two break-ins this week in Raleigh, authorities said.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A Hertford County man is charged with the attempted first-degree murder of a woman after two break-ins this week in Raleigh, authorities said.

David Lee Ashe, 33, of 205 North Hill St. in Winton, first attempted to break into a home on Inverbrass Court in Raleigh Sunday, according to arrest warrants.

On Wednesday, he came back and tried to stab two people there.

In addition to the murder charge, Ashe faces charges of breaking and entering with intent to commit larceny and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

He was being held without bond at the Wake County jail on Thursday.
