Raleigh police investigating third downtown bank robbery in five days

This is the second bank robbery in downtown Raleigh in five days. Mechanics and Farmers Bank on Hargett Street was robbed March 30.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Police are investigating a bank robbery Tuesday at First Citizens Bank in downtown Raleigh.

According to the Raleigh Watch Commander, the bank robbery happened just after 2:30 p.m. on Fayetteville Street.

This is the third bank robbery in five days in downtown Raleigh, as Mechanics and Farmers Bank on Hargett Street was robbed on March 30.

Police returned to the Mechanics and Farmers Bank Monday morning in reference to another bank robbery

Raleigh police are investigating the Fayetteville Street robbery and said the investigations for all three robberies are ongoing.
