Raleigh police investigate shooting at Days Inn south of downtown

The parking lot of a Days Inn at 3901 S. Wilmington St. in Raleigh was filled with police vehicles and officers, and a section was cordoned off by crime scene tape on Tuesday afternoon.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police were investigating a report of a shooting outside a Days Inn hotel south of downtown on Tuesday morning. The parking lot of the hotel, at 3901 S. Wilmington St., was filled with police vehicles and officers, and a section was cordoned off by crime scene tape.

Police said a man was shot and taken from the scene by a private vehicle to a hospital with injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening. They did not release the name of the victim or any information about a possible shooter. They asked that anyone with information about the shooting call Raleigh Crime Stoppers at 919-834-HELP.
