RALEIGH, N.C. — North Hills Park playground, which closed in September for an overhaul, is open again.

According to a Raleigh parks Facebook post, the new playground includes a tri-runner swing, a seesaw, spinners, sand diggers, slides and more. The original playground, which is pictured above, opened in the mid-1990s and needed upgrades to fit the city's current needs and guidelines, according to the city's website.

The project was built with funding from a 2014 bond referedum and the N.C. Recreation and Park Association Healthy Play and Recreation Initiative.

The park, which also includes a picnic shelter, tennis courts and a youth baseball field, is at 100 Chowan Circle.
