For families struggling to make ends meet, the City of Raleigh is offering some peace of mind by working with water customers to make sure they don't lose service.

Eileen Navarrete, engineering manager for Raleigh Water, explained, "We have a team set up to connect our customers with available assistance. That team can be reached at 919-996-3333 or utility bill help at RaleighNC.gov."

Who qualifies?

All residential water customers who get their service from the City of Raleigh are eligible for a 12-month payment plan to spread out what they owe. Customers who are having financial difficulties may qualify for additional assistance on a case-by-case basis.

What information is required?

To access help, people need to provide the address where they get water service or their utility account number.

"The last thing we want to do is shut off anyone's water, so we really need our customers to reach out so we can help," Navarrete said.
