Raleigh, N.C. — A Raleigh woman and her live-in boyfriend are facing charges after they allegedly overdosed.
Leeann Walker’s young children tried to revive the pair after they fell into unconsciousness, according to an arrest warrant.
Walker, 37, and Brian Keith Jackson, 35, of 3113 Calumet Drive in Raleigh, were each charged with one misdemeanor count of child abuse in connection with the incident on Nov. 1 at their home, the warrant shows.
Walker was arrested over a week ago while Jackson was taken into custody Thursday.
According to the warrant, the two were apparently taking an opioid when they overdosed and had to be revived with Naloxone, which blocks and reverses the effects of opioid medication. Opioid medications, when abused, can trigger extreme drowsiness, slow breathing and also result in loss of consciousness.
Police charged the pair with leaving the woman's children with no one to care for them while they were intoxicated, prompting the youngster to call 911 for help.
