RALEIGH, N.C. — Two Raleigh men have been arrested on counterfeit charges after Cary police say they tried to buy cosmetics from a local department store.

Cortland Pierre Gore, 25, of 449 Grissom St., and Aaron Lee Campbell, 40, whose address wasn't available, were arrested Friday evening on charges of possession of a counterfeit instrument and felony conspiracy. Campbell was also charged with attempted obtaining property by false pretense.

Arrest warrants allege that the men had multiple counterfeit bills and tried to make a purchase at the cosmetics counter of Macy's.

Gore was being held Sunday at the Wake County Detention Center under a $150,000 secured bond on the counterfeit charge and was being held without bond on the conspiracy charge.

Campbell was jailed under a $75,000 secured bond on the counterfeit charge and no bond on the other charges.
