A man was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after he was struck by a vehicle while crossing New Bern Avenue in Raleigh.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A man was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after he was struck by a vehicle while crossing New Bern Avenue in Raleigh.

At 10:22 p.m. on Monday, the man, identified as Ronnie Hill, was walking south on New Bern Avenue near the Plainview Drive intersection when he was hit.

A crash report states that Hill walked in front of a car while it was changing lanes. He was transported to nearby WakeMed Hospital.

Police said the pedestrian was at fault and the driver will not be charged in the crash.
