Raleigh man stabbed in home break-in

A Raleigh man was stabbed while fighting with an 18-year-old who police say broke into his home Friday morning, according to arrest warrants.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh man was stabbed while fighting with an 18-year-old who police say broke into his home Friday morning, according to arrest warrants.

The warrants state that William Manigault, of 833 Cantwell Court Apt. B, broke into a house on Timber Drive while a resident, Christopher Stenger, was home.

Manigault stabbed Stenger with a kitchen knife and took a PlayStation 2 game console, according to the warrants. He ran from officers who responded but was caught.

Stenger was recovering Saturday morning.

Manigault was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, possession of burglary tools and resisting a public officer.

He was placed in the Wake County jail under a $225,000 secured bond. His first court appearance was set for Monday.
