RALEIGH, N.C. — The motive behind the shooting of a man in a Raleigh apartment complex Friday afternoon was robbery, police said.

Two people shot Ali Gyashi Kaheem Lettsone, 30, during an apparent robbery at 5951 Shadetree Lane around 4:45 p.m., police said.

Lettsone suffered a gunshot wound in the abdomen, but police did not think his injuries were life-threatening. He underwent surgery at WakeMed and was listed in good condition Saturday evening.

Investigators said it was unclear whether the shooting took place inside or outside an apartment building. The apartment complex lies off Pleasant Valley Road, between Millbrook Road and Glenwood Avenue.

Officers said they have not made any arrests or identified any suspects in the shooting.
