DURHAM, N.C. — A Raleigh man who identifies as a pastor faces sex charges involving a child.

David Keandre Dixon faces four counts of sexual offense with a child under the age of 15 and one count of indecent liberties with a child.

Dixon, 37, was arrested in Wake County and is now in custody at the Durham County Jail. He's under a secured bond of $10 million.

Warrants show the crimes involved a 13-year-old and happened in October.

Dixon lists himself as a pastor of a Durham church on Facebook, Kingdom City Life Empowerment.

Mario L. Davis, presiding bishop and chairman of the Victory Christian International Fellowship of Churches, issued a statement on Thursday saying the church was "aware of allegations and pending legal actions that are in progress concerning Bishop David Ke'Andre Dixon" and that Dixon had "been removed from all official capacities."

Friends of Dixon expressed shock at what happened. Betty Doughty, also a pastor, met Dixon at a conference in 2013 and they've remained friends.

"Oh my god, yes," said Doughty when asked if she was taken aback by the news. "Never would have thought. Never."

"I'm just shocked."
