RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh man was being held on a $3 million bond Monday after he was accused of creating sexually explicit photographs of a 2-year-old child, court documents show.

Robin Christopher Hildred, 46, was being held at the Wake County jail after authorities filed nearly two dozen charges against him last week, including first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, second-degree exploitation of a minor and sexual offense with a child, according to an arrest warrant filed in the case.

During a first-appearance hearing on Monday, Hildred asked the judge for a court-appointed lawyer. He was ordered to appear on Dec. 17 for another court hearing.

The search warrant does not state if Hildred knew the victim or how he met the child.

According to the arrest warrant, Hildred allegedly took inappropriate pictures of the young girl's private parts "for the purpose of sexual gratification."

Raleigh police declined to comment on the case, which was also investigated by the Department of Homeland Security because the agency is part of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

It was not clear from the court documents how investigators first learned of the crimes.

Prosecutors declined comment on the case.
