SILVER SPRING, MD. — A Raleigh man is facing a third-degree sex offense and up to 10 years in prison after Maryland officials said he forced unwanted touching on a 13-year-old back to 2016.
WJLA.com reports Mahlik “Moon” Kone, 22, of Raleigh was arrested on Monday. Montgomery County (Md.) officials said the girl involved in the case opened up to social workers about what happened, saying Kone often visited the family apartment and on numerous occasions, snuck into the victim’s bedroom and forced the unwanted touching.

The girl also told authorities he threatened her and was known to carry a gun.

Officials said when the 13-year-old approached her mother about the allegations, she was slapped and told to “shut up.” The mother, who has since passed away, was then threatened by Kone, thrown up against the wall, slapped and threatened, an officer with Montgomery County's Special Victims Investigations Division wrote in court documents obtained by WJLA.com.

An arrest warrant was issued in January. Kone was given a $20,000 unsecured bond with a condition he stay away from anyone under the age of 18 until his trial, set for July 12 at the Montgomery County (Md.) District Courthouse.
