Raleigh man faces robbery, assault, weapons charges

A Raleigh man faces charges that he tried to rob and kill another man with a stolen semi-automatic pistol Friday, according to arrest warrants.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh man faces charges that he tried to rob and kill another man with a stolen semi-automatic pistol Friday, according to arrest warrants.

Dominic Debson "Deshon" Harrelson, 27, of 2124 Spring Forest Road, threatened to shoot a man if he didn't hand over cash and a watch worth $300, the warrants state.

Harrelson was carrying a stolen Glock .40-caliber pistol and nearly 80 grams of cocaine and marijuana, according to the warrants.

Harrelson was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, attempted armed robbery, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a felon, carrying a concealed weapon, felony possession of cocaine and possession with intent to sell or distribute marijuana.

He was placed in the Wake County jail under a $405,000 secured bond. His first court appearance was set for Monday.

Harrelson has 11 convictions dating to 2000, including dealing drugs and possession of a firearm by a felon, according to state Department of Correction records. He has spent nearly two years behind bars.
