Raleigh man dies in wreck after Johnston chase
Alcohol played a role in a high-speed chase in Johnston County early Saturday that ended in a single-vehicle crash and killed a Raleigh man, according to the state Highway Patrol.

BENSON, N.C. — Alcohol played a role in a high-speed chase in Johnston County early Saturday that ended in a single-vehicle crash and killed a Raleigh man, according to the state Highway Patrol.
State troopers said Brian Keith Bennett, 40, lost control of his vehicle and ran off a ramp from Interstate 95 north onto Interstate 40 near Benson around 2:30 a.m. His vehicle crashed into some trees.
Troopers said that Bennett was involved in a high-speed chase with Johnston County sheriff's deputies. The Johnston County Sheriff's Office has not released information on the chase.
