Raleigh man charged with robbing Wilson bank, aborted robbery in Bailey

A Raleigh man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a bank robbery in Wilson and a failed robbery attempt in Bailey, according to arrest warrants.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a bank robbery in Wilson and a failed robbery attempt in Bailey, according to arrest warrants.

Michael Donell Moore, 26, of 101 Ridgewood Drive, was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and wearing a mask or a hood on public property. He was being held in the Wake County jail under $252,000 bond.

A First Citizens Bank branch at 3129 Raleigh Road Parkway in Wilson was robbed on May 8 by an armed man wearing a surgical mask, sunglasses and a blouse and skirt who then fled in a silver Mazda CX-9, police said. About $29,600 was taken in the robbery, according to an arrest warrant.

A masked man tried to enter a Southern Bank branch on East Main Street in Bailey on July 2 before driving off in a silver Mazda CX-9, police said.
