Raleigh man charged with public health violation

A Raleigh man was arrested Wednesday and charged with a public health violation, records show.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh man was arrested Wednesday and charged with a public health violation, records show.

Owen Bwale Kapanga, 49, failed to comply with tuberculosis control measures in Wake County in Sept. 2018, his arrest warrant states.

Tuberculosis is an airborne disease that can be spread when someone with the illness coughs or sneezes.

He was being held in the Wake County jail on $50,000 bond.
