Raleigh man charged in Wachovia hold-up
Police on Monday arrested a Raleigh man in connection with the attempted robbery of a north Raleigh bank last week.
Posted — UpdatedCurtis Jemelle Green, 24, was charged with common law robbery, possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a dwelling for the use, storage or sale of illegal narcotics, driving while license revoked and resisting, delaying or obstructing a law enforcement officer.
A man gave a teller at the Wachovia bank at 7801 Falls of Neuse Road a note last Wednesday, saying he was robbing the bank and implying that he had a weapon, police said. He fled the bank without any money, however.
Investigators determined that Green was a suspect in the hold-up, and officers tried to stop his vehicle Monday afternoon on Spring Forest Road. He fled the vehicle but was quickly apprehended, police said.
Police found drugs during searches of his home and two vehicles.
