Raleigh man charged in tire-iron attack

A Raleigh man faces accusations that he attacked another man with a tire iron, according to an arrest warrant.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh man faces accusations that he attacked another man with a tire iron, according to an arrest warrant.

The warrant states that Dana Lee Lemon, 30, of 1905 Bates St., tried to kill another man by beating him with a tire iron on April 30.

Lemon was arrested Friday on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

He was placed in the Wake County jail under a $200,000 secured bond. His first court appearance was set for Monday.

Lemon served 5½ years in prison for 2003 convictions for armed robbery and felony drug possession, according to state Department of Correction records. He was also convicted of burglary in South Carolina in 1999.
