RALEIGH, N.C. — A former Wake County Public Schools employee was arrested Tuesday after police said he exposed himself near a YMCA.

Douglas Barry Kinney, 56, of apartment 502, 510 Glenwood Ave. in Raleigh, is accused of exposing himself near the Alexander YMCA on Hillsborough Street, according to an arrest warrant. No children were affected, authorities said.

Kinney was being held at the Wake County jail on a $500 bond Wednesday night.

Kinney was the senior director of Internal Audit at Wake County Public Schools, spokesman Michael Evans said. Kinney tendered his resignation on Monday.

Evans said Kinney has been suspended without pay until his resignation is effective on June 30. Kinney joined the school system in July 1985.
