Raleigh man arrested after shooting celebratory gunfire with stolen weapon

Raleigh police said a man was arrested for firing shots into the air on Cedar Forest Way.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh man was arrested on Sunday for firing shots into the air on Cedar Forest Way.

Malaik Saiquan Flournoy, 33, was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, discharging a firearm within city limits, possession of a stolen firearm and resisting a public officer. The weapon was stolen from a man in Virginia, according to an incident report.

Records show Flournoy lived at the home where he fired the shots.

Flournoy has an extensive criminal record, with charges dating back to 2014. He has been arrested for assault on a female and other weapons charges.

It does not appear anyone was harmed.
