Raleigh man accused of touching sleeping woman
Raleigh police charged a man with sexually battery Saturday after they say he touched a sleeping woman.
Posted — UpdatedThe arrest warrants state that David Octavio Mendoza-Vasquez, 31, of 3625 Brentwood Road, touched the woman's crotch several times while she was asleep "for the purpose of sexual gratification."
The woman did not know Mendoza-Vasquez and was staying with his house mate, police noted in court records. They asked for a higher bond due to "the random nature of this sexual offense."
Mendoza-Vasquez was placed in the Wake County jail under an $8,000 secured bond. He was scheduled to appear in court June 1.
