Raleigh man accused of shooting neighbor's dog in head charged with animal cruelty

A man has been charged with cruelty to animals after being accused of shooting his neighbor's dog in the head.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A man accused of shooting his neighbor's dog in the head has been charged with cruelty to animals.

According to warrants, Ryan Hennessy, 40, of Sailfish Lane in Raleigh, shot the dog in the head three times while it was stuck in the fence between their yards on Nov. 3.

According to police, Hennessy claimed the dog was aggressive and was attacking his own dog.

Hennessy was charged with animal cruelty. A court date has not been determined.
