Raleigh man accused of rape, sex offense charges involving child

Raleigh, N.C. — A Raleigh man was arrested Friday on several sex-related charges involving a child.

Edvin Javier Lopez Argueta, 32, of 2909 Falmout Drive, faces four counts of first-degree sexual offense and two counts of first-degree rape stemming from the accusations.

Arrest warrants indicate the alleged crimes happened in 2008 and 2009 when the victim was 8 and 9 years old.

Raleigh police say Argueta and the child knew one another prior to the crimes.

Argueta was in the Wake County Detention Center Monday under a $1.5 million bond.
