RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh man faces charges after police say he left his sons alone in a hot car Friday, according to an arrest warrant.

Jesus Morfino-Juarez, 37, of 1133 Crab Orchard Drive, Apt. 2A, was charged with two counts of misdemeanor child abuse.

The warrant states that Morfino-Juarez left his two sons unsupervised in a car that wasn't running for at least 30 minutes while it was at least 95 degrees outside. The boy's ages weren't given, except to say that they're under age 16.

Morfino-Juarez was placed in the Wake County jail under a $3,000 secured bond. His first court appearance was set for Aug. 31.

He was also placed under a detainer while the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement investigates whether he's in the country legally.
