Raleigh man accused of felony prescription drug charges

Michael Aaron Meares, 31, of 7350 Circlebank Drive, is accused of trying to fill nine prescriptions for drugs, including Oxycontin and Xanax, at four Raleigh pharmacies using forged prescriptions, according to arrest warrants.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh man was charged Friday with a series of felony prescription drug charges.

Michael Aaron Meares, 31, of 7350 Circlebank Drive, is accused of trying to fill nine prescriptions for drugs, including Oxycontin and Xanax, at four Raleigh pharmacies using forged prescriptions, according to arrest warrants. 

Meares is charged with nine counts of obtaining property under false pretense, six counts of trafficking in opium or heroin and six counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and deliver.

He was being held under a $5 million bond at the Wake County jail on Friday.
