Raleigh's Historic Resources and Museum Program has launched a new virtual field trip series for kids to do at home or with their class.

Through Sites with Sammy, kids can join Sammy the Squirrel to learn more about Raleigh's historic sites and organizations.

So far, the city has released one virtual program, which covers the history of the Red Cross in Raleigh. It includes a video and some additional Red Cross-related activities.

According to the city's website, the series is developed to be relevant to the North Carolina Standard Course of Study competency goals for grades three, four and eight. Each program includes a video and activities.

More information is on the city's website, including an opportunity to get email updates when more videos go live.
