The national tour of "The Wizard of Oz" will stop in Raleigh this week with shows Tuesday through Sunday.

The show, presented by N.C. Theatre and Broadway Series South, tells the classic tale, complete with a yellow brick road, Dorothy, Toto and all of their friends.

Shows take place at the Raleigh Memorial Auditorium at the Duke Energy Center for Performing Arts in downtown Raleigh. Tickets start at $23.

Stay tuned later this week for my interview with Kalie Kaimann, who will play Dorothy in the production. She has also performed as Bonnie in Anything Goes, Logainne in 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Ulla in The Producers, Millie Dilmount in Thoroughly Modern Millie, Belle in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, and Minnie Fay in Hello Dolly!

Tickets are on sale now for the show, which runs about 2 hours and 25 minutes, including the 15-minute intermission. NC Theatre's website has more information and ticket details.
And, I love this: For those with autism or other special needs, the show provides a social narrative so kids and others will know what to expect and can prepare for the theater experience.
