RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh is getting its first cidery.
Shady Grove Cidery Co. will be located in the upcoming East End Market, a mixed-use food and beverage destination on Whitaker Mill Road between Wake Forest Road and Atlantic Avenue, the development announced this week.

“Shady Grove aims to bring innovative ciders using North Carolina heirloom apple varieties to the Raleigh community, co-owner Olive Koch said. “Like its name and whimsical branding, Shady Grove will feel like an outdoor sanctuary for gathering. East End will be Raleigh’s new hot spot and we’re thrilled to be located in the heart of such an authentic environment.”

Shady Grove will be joining acclaimed restaurateur Giorgios Bakatsias, who will be opening his French chop house, East End Bistro, in the development.

About 70 percent of East End's 71,900 square-feet of space is already leased.

Construction on East End Market is expected to be completed by the end of the year with the first tenants moving in early next year.
