Raleigh French fry bar to give away a year of free fries

Buena Papa Fry Bar at Morgan Street Food Hall is holding its grand opening on Thursday and giving away free fries for a year to some lucky customers.

RALEIGH, N.C. — French fry fans have a chance to win free fries for a year.

Buena Papa Fry Bar is doing the giveaway as part of its grand opening celebration on Thursday at Morgan Street Food Hall.

The booth serves only gourmet fries with a variety of toppings. You can create your own combo of toppings or you can get one of the eight signature options including The Carolina, which has pulled pork on top. The "El Americano" features cheddar cheese, bacon, sour cream and chives. The "El Healthy" has sweet potato fries instead of traditional fries and is topped with smoked salmon, guacamole and pico de gallo.

The grand opening event will run 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and include free food and a new recipe for guests to check out. The first 10 customers will get their favorite dish for free. Every hour, the Buena team will be choosing a guest to win free fries for a year.

There will also be live salsa music from 3 to 5 p.m.

Buena Papa Fry Bar is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday through Sunday. It is located across from Cousin's Maine Lobster.
