Raleigh Fire Department is hiring

The city is looking for entry-level firefighters to work as first responders. Applications are due Oct. 5.

RALEIGH, N.C. — The Raleigh Fire Department is hiring.

The city said Monday that it is looking for entry-level firefighters to work as first responders.

Applicants must be at least 21 years old, have a high school diploma and valid driver's license and be able to pass aptitude and physical fitness tests.

The annual starting salary is $32,673, plus benefits, including medical and dental coverage, retirement and tuition assistance.

Applications and more information are available online at the Raleigh Fire Department's website or at any Raleigh fire station.

They are also available at the city's personnel department, 222 W. Hargett St., or Keeter Training Center, 105 Keeter Center Drive.

Complete applications must be postmarked by Oct. 5.
