Raleigh dentist barred from sedating patients
A Raleigh dentist has been barred from sedating patients in his office, according to an order filed this week.
Posted — UpdatedIn an order filed Tuesday, the North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners found that Robert W. Eisberg II has routinely placed pediatric patients in a deep sedation and is not trained to conduct the level of sedation.
"It is the board's opinion that the respondent's continued use of moderate pediatric conscious sedation constitutes a threat to the public health, safety and welfare," according to the order.
Eisberg – the owner of Atlantic Family Dental, according to the office's website, has a right to a formal hearing on the matter before the dental board.
