Pope blesses cornerstone for Holy Name of Jesus cathedral
Michael F. Burbidge, bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Raleigh, met recently with Pope Francis in Rome to get his blessing on the cornerstone to be laid at the diocese's new cathedral in Raleigh.

Burbidge was in Rome to visit seminarians studying at the North American College in Rome, and he had a pre-arranged meeting with the pope to bless Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral.

“It was a great privilege to have Pope Francis bless the cornerstone of our new cathedral," Burbidge said. "He was happy to learn that our cathedral will be called Holy Name of Jesus. Pope Francis also asked us to pray for him,” he said.
