Raleigh-based rescue needs forever home for blind, deaf dog
Perfectly Imperfect Pups is searching for a forever home for a dog who is deaf and blind.
Posted — UpdatedFreddy has been with the Raleigh-based rescue for almost a year, according to PIPs founder Nicole Kincaid. Since the rescue found him, he has been adopted and returned three times.
"Freddy is a sweet, smart boy who knows how to sit, lay down and walks well on a leash," Kincaid said. "He loves outings and car rides and is just the best snuggler in the world! People come to the rescue seeking the perfect dog and overlook Freddy because of his challenges."
According to Kincaid, PIPs rescued Freddy and his brother, who is also visually impaired, from a shelter in Florida.
Freddy will need a special family.
"Freddy’s only senses are touch and smell, so his nose works overtime in new places," Kincaid explained. "He can get easily overwhelmed when he’s not given enough time to adjust. We are hoping to find him a home that will give him the time he needs to settle and adapt to his new environment."
Kincaid hopes she can find a home for Freddy before Feb. 20 -- which will be his one-year anniversary with the rescue.
"A little patience is all it takes for Freddy to really shine! Freddy is truly a sweetheart, looking for someone to give him a chance," she added.
