RALEIGH, N.C. — A man who robbed a Raleigh bank twice last summer will serve 10 years in prison for the crimes, United States Attorney George E.B. Holding announced Tuesday.

Jason Trent Goodine, 33, was arrested Aug. 20 after he held up a Wachovia Bank at 4560 Capital Blvd.

As Goodine fled the bank with $14,770 in a trash bag, dye packs in the cash exploded, and he left a trail of red-stained bills behind. Officers found him hiding on the property of a nearby apartment complex.

Goodine pleaded guilty in December to robbing the bank twice – the first came on June 23.

At the time of his arrest, Goodine was on parole for bank robberies he committed in 2001, Holding said.
