Central NC warms up, dries out by mid-week
Tuesday starts and ends with the possibility for rain showers, but where skies clear out midday some communities could see temperatures climb into the 70s.
Posted — Updated"Some of our eastern counties have a chance to see some sunshine," WRAL meteorologist Mike Maze said. "If this is the case, then temperatures will rise into the 70s."
The chance for rain is steady throughout the day on Tuesday at 50 percent, but that only means a 50-50 chance for rain at any given place or time.
Where and when it does rain, through is the chance for thunderstorms, although none of those would be severe, Maze said.
Most of central North Carolina will experience highs in the mid-60s Tuesday.
Rain chances drop for Wednesday and Thursday, although some clouds will be around. Days will be mild with highs in the low 60s.
Rain showers should not be an issue for Valentine's Day outings, but a light jacket will come in handy.
On Friday, the rain will return along with warmer temperatures.
Next weekend looks sunny and mild, with highs in the 50s.
