RALEIGH, N.C. — After a rainy night, sunny skies and mild temperatures will emerge Saturday, making for a gorgeous weekend.

Although Saturday will be dry, cloudy skies may persist until around noon, said WRAL meteorologist Peta Sheerwood, then sunshine will return for the afternoon.

It will also be nice and mild. Temperatures on Saturday will top out around 58 degrees in Raleigh and 60 degrees in Fayetteville.

"It's going to be a pleasant day, even going into the evening hours," said WRAL meteorologist Peta Sheerwood.

Overnight, temperatures will drop into the low 30s. Sunday will be cooler than Saturday, with a high around 52 degrees in Raleigh, and it will be another sunny day.

A chance for rain doesn't return until Monday, which could have some light, spotty showers. The upcoming work week will feature highs in the low 50s, which are normal for late January.

7-Day Forecast

Lows will fall into the mid 30s each night, but there won't be a stretch of bitter cold weather like we saw last week.
