RALEIGH, N.C. — Monday's rains will lead to foggy conditions Tuesday morning, WRAL meteorologist Mike Maze said.

"There's still a lot of low-level moisture out there right now, and as the atmosphere cools, the concern is that will condense out and form fog," Maze said.

The National Weather Service issued a dense fog advisory for areas north and west of the Triangle, and it could be expanded across the region by daybreak, he said. Visibility at Raleigh-Durham International Airport was down to a mile by late Monday.

Warmer weather is on the way, after a light rain, according to WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner.

Monday will also be one of the coolest days of the week, but still mild, with highs in the low to mid 50s.

Tuesday will be dry and milder, with only a small chance for showers south of the Triangle. Temperatures will be in the upper 50s.

Wednesday will be a brighter day with plenty of sunshine and a high in the low 60s.

The mild temperatures are a sharp contrast to those felt last week, when lows reached 23 degrees and highs reached only the low 40s.

The normal low for mid-November is 42 degrees.

7-Day Forecast

Gardner said temperatures will be warmest Thursday and Friday, which could see highs in the low to mid 60s.

A chance of rain will return Friday and for the weekend, although a washout is not expected. Temperatures will stay mild, in the mid 50s, for Saturday and Sunday.
