Race in a creative chariot in downtown Raleigh this fall

RALEIGH, N.C. — Red Bull might claim that it gives you wings, but the company wants you to fly on your own chariot through downtown Raleigh this fall.

The energy drink company announced Monday that it is bringing the Red Bull Chariot Race to Moore Square on Oct. 15.

Teams of four can apply to build their own chariot and race it through a custom course with sharp turns and puzzles. Red Bull says that "getting across the finish line will require a fast craft and fast minds as teams encounter challenges along the way in this incredibly unique, city-stopping race."

Applications are being accepted through Sept. 5. You must be 18 years and older to compete. There will be 20 teams selected to compete. Teams will be given a gift card and access to a build consultant to help them design their chariot.

The three teams with the best times will receive the following prizes:

First Place: A VIP experience for the team at Red Bull Symphonic in Atlanta, Georgia on November 4, 2022. Includes travel and accommodations.
Second Place: A Red Bull athlete experience (to be determined by Red Bull).
Third Place: A Red Bull house party experience (to be determined by Red Bull).

This is the first time the Red Bull Chariot Race is being held in downtown Raleigh.
