A UNC Health physician and pilot were taken to the hospital Wednesday after a small plane crashed at Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU).

The 12-year-old boy had been required to sleep in a tube-like tent, enclosed by a solid plastic sheet. Upon discovering that the zipper for the tent was broken, the report says, "staff needed a zip tie out of the tool bag."

According to the Sampson County Sheriff's Office, a school resource officer discovered the body of a man inside a vehicle at Hobbton Middle School athletic field. Authorities believe the man died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
